VICE-PRINCIPAL Junior School (Gr. 2-5) Toronto at Toronto French School, ON

JUNIOR SCHOOL - 296VICE-PRINCIPAL EFFECTIVE August 17/18, 2015Reporting to the Principal of the Junior School, the Vice-Principal will assist the Principal in the general organization and management of the School as assigned Duties will include, but not be limited to:Setting time-tables, calendars, assignment of replacements;Organizing special events, student life and community initiatives;Student discipline, dress code, conduct and safety;Providing assistance to teachers regarding instructional issues;Assisting the Principal with staff performance issues and performance evaluation;Participating in the hiring process of teaching and support staff;Implementation of the academic programme and projects in liaison with the Director of French Studies, the Directors of Primary Studies and the Director of Curriculum and PD;Providing assistance with professional development initiatives;Providing input and participating in policy development and implementation initiatives;Participating in staff/department meetings when requested;Working with various constituencies within the School including other Branch Administrators, the Head's Council, Branch Coordinators, parents, etcas needed.In the absence of the Principal, the Vice-Principal shall be in charge of the School and shall perform the duties of the Principal.Qualifications and Experience:Hold an acceptable university degree and certification as a teacher;Principal's Qualifications or registration in the programme and/or previous academic administration experience would be considered assets;Knowledge of IB-PYP program an asset;Several years teaching experience, preferably at the primary-intermediate level;Be able to inspire trust and confidence in working with members of the School community and effectively communicate the mission of TFS;Work collaboratively with administrators and teaching staff;Proven excellence in leadership, organizational, administrative and communication skills;Proven experience in involvement in student life initiatives;A strong commitment to continuous professional development;Good oral/written skills in French and English are requiredAdditional Qualifications:Commitment to model the behavioural competencies of the IB Profile:Have a passion for the IB Mission; International mindedness; Managing and developing self and others; Delivering results; Teamwork and Cooperation; Driving to improve; Decision making; Organizational Development Be inquirers, knowledgeable, thinkers, communicators, principled, open-minded, caring, risk-takers, balanced and reflective.Demonstrated commitment to school lifeStrong desire to be an inspiring, motivated and values-driven educatorCommitted to French/English bilingualism.Interested and qualified candidates should submit a letter of motivation and a résumé ASAP to: jobs@tfs.ca
